WALKING TOGETHER
Update
July 2023
We are developing a new program that pairs Indigenous and non-indigenous people to walk together, to share old and new ideas. And to collaboratively find pathways to make this Country the best it can be.

Currently we are pairing Yambulla's very own Louis Convery, a non-indigenous fella with farming roots from up Tamworth way, with Nathan Lygon, a proud Yuin cultural man from Pambula. Both in their 20's, these 2 young men bring their own perspectives to Yambulla and here we are providing them a unique field to interplant their knowledge.
Louis has been working at Yambulla for 2.5 years now and has been mentored by some exceptional non-indigenous land managers, building (literally) deadly skills in pest animal & weed control. He is currently skilling up on restoring our waterways through Peter Andrews' concept of rehydrating the landscape.
We know Nathan from his role working with Black Duck Foods (amongst many things, he's been on the native grain harvester here at Yambulla for the last 3 years), and we are well familiar with his deep connection to this Country. It is our great privilege walk beside him when he is reading, hearing and feeling Country.
Putting these two men together with the simple brief of working out collaborative ways to place caring for Country at the top of the decision-making tree is central to our philosophy of Sharing Country.
Feel at home in our secluded, architect-designed off-grid guest lodge. Surrounded by nothing but nature as far as the eye can see.
Cool and breezy inthe summer and cosy with wood-fired central heatingin the winter.
