We were very fortunate in the recent floods as the rains were predominantly further to the north however they did work their way south for a day and we received 160mm. Myrtle Mountain, about 50km from here received 500mm in the same period!
We have been waiting for a rain event of this nature to observe the water flows in the Wild Bullock Swamp. The information we garnered by observing the flood will be important for our Riparian Restoration program. Charlie Maslin plans on ‘nudging’ the water from the main channels into ‘forgotten’ channels, exposed when there is a lot of water flowing about.
