We have been on a 10 year listening and learning journey and it's finally time to sharpen our pencils and create a master plan for Yambulla. This will be an overarching document that identifies what, where and how our regenerative ideas in native grains, carbon, forestry, eco-tourism and biodiversity will knit together to make this Country the best it can be.
It has been a extremely valuable to take time over learning and we recognise that in a world that values expediency, these opportunities for slow thinking are rare.
We are grateful for generosity of our Indigenous friends who have taught us about the importance of taking time. Understanding that our decisions will affect many generations to come. We are also grateful to them for helping us to understand the concept of Country which shapes our approach to planing:
'encompasses land, waterways, seas and skies, as well as the energy and space in between. It also encompasses relationships. Relationships with plants, relationships with animals and relationships with Ancestors (to name a few).’ Commonground
Master planning Yambulla in a way that is holistic, inclusive, thoughtful and long-term will be a collaborative effort. We will be engaging experts in Lore, Culture, ecology, forestry, carbon, native grains, food forestry to name a few. None of this will be cheap. But it will reap huge rewards in financial, environmental, social and Cultural resilience.
